Like dark, impasto paint. This painted grunge texture is a great starting place for really distressed, messy, painted grunge graphics. It has the look of scumbled, scratched, splattered and cracked paint. I made this entirely from my "Grunge Painter" brushes, which you can download from Brusheezy by clicking on my profile (name).
